Now, grab a mug of your favorite beverage, and let’s chat briefly!

If we were having coffee…
I’d ask you if you remember how last month I mentioned that I made an offer on a house but it wasn’t accepted.  I offered $30k over the asking price.  Well, I found out that the selling price was $35k over the asking price.  I was outbid by $5k!  Can you believe it?

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you I tried the Lavender Oatmilk Latte from Starbucks and I LOVED it.  My coworker wasn’t too crazy about the lavender taste.  I though it was mild but just enough for me to like it.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that today is my last day of Spring Break.  It went by fast.  I actually enjoyed it.  I watched TV and read my book.  I didn’t leave my house for two days.  The weather wasn’t too friendly either so I had no desire to go outside.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I am all caught up on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.  I started watching it from the beginning sometime last year on Hulu.  Wow!  WHAT A SHOW!!  Now I want to see the original Law and Order, but on Peacock I can watch beginning with Season 13.  The episodes are also available on Hulu but with Live TV and that is an extra cost.  It is about  $60 per month.  Umm, no thank you.  There are other shows to watch.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I signed up for a 10 mile race for this Sunday.  I asked to change it to the 5k.  I am not sure if I want to do it anymore because of the weather.  I know, I know.  I am being a wimp.  I am over this cold and gloomy weather.  I hate that I paid for a race and will not show up again.  Last year I paid for the NYC Half Marathon and didn’t make it to NY.  Let’s see how I feel Sunday morning.

The topic for next week’s Fit Fit Friday – 5 things in your race kit.  Feel free to write about this or any fitness topic you’d like.  We hope you’ll link up with us!

  1. I tried the lavender. I didn’t hate it. But I prefer other flavors.

Our weather this week has been awful. Rain snow wind. Ugh.

I have wasted many a buck on races. But only when injured. Usually once I drag myself to the race I’m happy I did it.

I have few I signed up for this spring that I will feel that way. Including a half on April 13. Not ready for it!!!

  2. Ugh. Losing outo by 5K must be frustrating!

I’m not a huge fan of lavender so I haven’t tried the new Starbucks drink. If they were offering free samples I might try a sip!

I wouldn’t want to do a race in miserable conditions if it wasn’t a big race I’d been looking forward to. The race entry is a sunk cost, why add misery to your day?

  3. I stay away from the Starbucks drinks bc they have so much sugar! Doing a race in less than ideal weather is never fun but you can do it! Have a fun day out there

  4. That’s funny, we both wrote about the Starbucks lavender today! I’m not usually a fan of lavender, but I liked it in my earl grey.
The weather this time of year in Chicago can be so disappointing. I remember those days- you’re SO ready for spring, but it’s still dark and gloomy. I remember lots of years where it snowed on Easter. You’ll probably feel better if you get out there and do the race on Sunday (but I also wouldn’t blame you one bit if you decided to skip it!)

  5. This week’s weather was miserable in Iowa (until yesterday). The wind was 27mph after work on Wednesday! I hope you have better luck in your house hunt… I know how overwhelming it can be.

  6. Glad you enjoyed your spring break despite the gloomy weather. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the lavender. Bummer about the house. It will all work out the way it’s supposed to though and you’ll find the house that’s meant for you.

  7. Ughh, that’s so frustrating! Missing it by $5k is just…ugh. I’m so sorry! :[

The lavender oatmilk latte sounds awesome — I’m gonna have to try it soon!

  8. Being outbid by just $5K is so frustrating! The right house is out there waiting for you!

The weather has been so miserable lately. I’m not sure I’d run unless it was a race I was really excited about and had put in the training. Good luck!

  9. Ugh! You were so close! I feel like the market is cooling so hopefully the right house and the right bid will come along!

Lavender is a tough one for me. The smell triggers my anxiety, and the taste is meh. I’m glad you liked it. It’s so pretty.

I’m glad you had a nice Spring Break, and I hope you had decent weather to race this weekend!

Thank you for your comment!
