New Ultimate Coffee DateWelcome to the June edition of the Ultimate Coffee Date hosted by Coco and Deborah.  It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday hosted by My First 5K and More, Running with AttitudeRun Laugh Eat PieRuns with Pugs, and me!

Now, grab a mug of your favorite beverage, and let’s chat briefly!

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I found out I snore while sleeping.  This is new to me.  I realized a few months ago and my sister confirmed it.  Nothing wrong with it but just surprised.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that I will be running the Chicago Marathon in October.  I was picked to be on the Team TCS Teacher.  While I am happy about it,  I was actually surprised when I got the email.  The last time I ran a marathon was in 2016.  My #1 goal is to finish but am wondering if I can get a PR (5:12:59 from 2016).

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you that when I found out I was picked to run the Chicago Marathon, I downloaded an 18-week Hal Higdon training plan.  I printed it and added the week dates to it.  I was ready to start training next week.  Then I saw a post from Mary Johnson on Instagram for a group training program for the marathon.  I have worked with her before and signed up for the program.  I won’t be working with her, but am excited to work with a coach.

If we were having coffee…
I’d ask you if you ever saw the show “Desperate Housewives”.  I remember watching a few episodes but was never a fan.  Now I am watching it on Hulu and I am hooked.  It is a funny show but sometimes some of the characters get on my nerves.  I think Susan is the most annoying one.

If we were having coffee…
I’d tell you Summer Break is off to a good start.  It was nice to not have to work but it felt weird on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday not having the routine of going to work.  I am on the School Leadership Team and we had a meeting yesterday and have another one today so I’ve had to go to school.  However, no students!

  1. I used the 18 week higdon plan. Will probably use it again.

    Congrats on getting into Chicago.

Yes. I was addicted to that show in the day.

    Enjoy your vacation.

  2. I snore too! I found out I have mild sleep apnea so hopefully that can be “helped” soon.
I am so so excited for you that you got a Chicago Marathon entry!! YAY! I’m going to run Paris next year and still searching for the right training program.
I think I watched Desperate Housewives for a bit… way back when. These days we are watching Dexter. I watched the first season myself long ago but now I’m watching it with Ron.
I guess it always takes a few days to acclimate to summer break? I’m having my own “break” and had a few days of energy bursts and then a few days where I was just conked out. Hoping that will stablise soon!

  3. Congrats on getting into the Chicago Marathon. It’s great that you’re going to be working with a coach.

I loved Desperate Housewives back in the day.

  4. Ooh, the Chicago marathon- that’s exciting. Great idea to work with a coach!
I snore if I sleep on my back- luckily I usually sleep on my side so it’s not too much of an issue.
Yay for summer vacation!!! My husband is also off, and like you has a couple meetings at school this week. He’s pretty happy!

  5. I started watching Desperate Housewives on Hulu recently as well (I had watched it years ago, but stopped after the 3rd or 4th season). Have you seen Abbot Elementary? I’ve been on a streak with that, and it’s so funny! Congrats on Chicago & good luck with your training!

  6. Congrats on the marathon entry! Good luck with your training.

I loved Desperate Housewives. I think the writers make it so some characters are fun to hate on.

  7. Congrats on getting into the marathon. Sounds like that is just what you need to get your running mojo back. I used to love Desperate housewives when it was on.

  8. I am so proud of you for being selected to do Chicago! You are the best!
And I’m glad school is out! Yay for summer!

I used to watch DH, but my problem is that the first season or even two of shows are great. Then they just go off the rails and the plots get ridiculous and I hate them. Ive stopped watching shows because I hate investing time and having it end up badly.

  9. All the best with your training for Chicago. I’ve never watched DH. Enjoy your summer break and your time in school minus the students!

Thank you for your comment!
